I'm sure most of you are more excited to hear about Baby B and the progress. Well there isn't much news on that front. Everything is going well. We will announce the gender on Sunday so I am sure that Monday's blog will have that info for you! My wife is doing good as well as well. She says she can feel the baby move on occasion. I have trouble believing her as whenever she asks me to feel, I don't feel anything. I keep telling her it is gas. :-) She just frowns at me and rolls her eyes. But hey, I want to feel it kick too!
Day 9
Scripture
Matthew 4: 18-22
-
18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of
Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They
were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19 “Come,
follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” 20
At once they left their nets and followed him. 21 Going on from
there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John.
They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus
called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father
and followed him.
Wisdom
-
I haven’t been in ministry very long compared
to other people. I have only been a believer since I was 15. But I knew that
when I did believe I had an overwhelming urge to spread the word of Jesus to
everyone I met. But then, I faded away from that call. I got busy with life,
ignored the feelings I had when I accepted Jesus and received my purpose. It
took a couple years to figure it out again. I missed the God moments in life
for a while, I wasn’t looking.
-
Unfortunately for me though, that hiatus
included some life lessons I didn’t enjoy. Did I grow from them? Sure, but I
still could have done without them. Or at least would have appreciated the
peace I experience in Christ to have been in my life during that time. I
quickly remembered that God makes decisions based on wisdom and discernment,
something I didn’t have. I still feel I have a lot of growing to do in that
area.
-
Well I picked up the pieces of my “religion”
and quickly turned it into my faith. God then gave me the wisdom and
discernment I needed to work for Him.
-
I have heard so many excuses of why not to
listen to what God has for your life. And people say to me all the time that
they have no clue what their purpose is, or that God has not shown them what to
do. But my question is always the same; is it that you don’t want to live into
the purpose that God has in mind for you or are you afraid to take a step in
faith knowing you may fail?
-
All of us believers have one purpose that is
certain. Follow Him and spread the love of our Lord Jesus Christ. I said love.
That is what He called the disciples to do. When we share our faith, we share
the love and forgiveness that was shared with us.
Apply
-
Do you know the purpose that God has in store
for you?
-
Have you missed “coincidences” in your life
that God may have set to guide you to a greater purpose?
-
Have you shared the love of Christ with a
family member that needs it lately?
-
Is it time for you to serve the Lord in
mission next door or far away?
Prayer
-
Ask God to give you the wisdom to live into
the purpose He has in store for you. Praise Him for the love and understanding
in your life. Pray that He shows you how to share that with all that you meet.
